On September 12, 2026, Liwanay Kids took part in Once Upon a Runway: The Garden of a Thousand Tales — the cultural kids' fashion show presented by Cultura Events and Capital Elite Modeling Agency at the historic Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens in Washington, DC.
Yesterday was such a special day for Liwanay. 🤍
This was our very first fashion show, and seeing our pieces come to life on the runway felt almost unreal.
From preparing the outfits, organizing the models, changing looks backstage, fixing every little detail… to finally watching the children walk onto the runway — every moment was exciting, emotional, and unforgettable.
There was a little chaos backstage, a lot of running around, and definitely some nervous moments… but the second the show started, everything felt worth it.
Seeing our cultural patterns, our colors, and our designs being worn so beautifully on stage reminded me why Liwanay was created in the first place:
To keep culture alive,
to let children feel proud of where they come from,
and most importantly, to let kids still look and feel like kids.
We are so grateful to everyone who made this day possible — the organizers, the models, the moms, the photographers, and everyone who supported us.
Our first fashion show is officially in the books. ✨
And hopefully, this is only the beginning.
